Don’t miss Noosa Marina’s Classic Bike Show

The 2022 Noosa Marina Classic Bike Show and Swap-Meet is a celebration of bikes in all of their forms and includes a bike swap, show ‘n’ shine and more.

This year is the 10th edition of the Classic Bike Show and Shine at Noosa Marina, taking place on Saturday 13 August from 10am until 2pm.

Originally run under the umbrella of the Noosa Strade Bianche vintage bike Gran Fondo, Covid and the recent extreme weather events have forced its postponement for the last couple of years.

The bike swap is your chance to offload or load up, while the show ‘n’ shine gives you the opportunity to show off your pride and joy.

Andrew McKellear said the event was revived in response to pent-up demand from folks who had participated in past events.

“Noosa Marina has always been most welcoming of us right from the early days, when a couple of us had a hare-brained idea to run a vintage cycling event,“ he said.

“Big thanks again to Warren at Noosa Marina.“

Andrew said the Noosa Strade Bianche (NSB) was a homage to the golden age of cycling and a celebration of the steel-framed cycle.

“NSB encourages the renaissance of the artisan-built steel frame taking place across the world,“ he said.

“Many of these old bikes are like pieces of fine jewellery, with the bling and craftsmanship that isn’t seen with the modern carbon fibre bikes.

“For the above reasons and the fact that many more people are cycling since the pandemic began, the show is sure to be of interest to a wide section of the community. Not to mention the range of fine eateries located at Noosa Marina.“

Bicycles to be exhibited include classic 1960s and ’70s Italian and Australian made, as well as several examples from the early 1900s.

The environmental and health benefits of choosing a bicycle as a preferred mode of transport have long been merited and at this event, bicycle enthusiasts come together to celebrate, swap, and talk about bikes over a coffee and good food.

Event entry is free for exhibitors, but they must provide their own ground level bike stand.
