More than 4,000 first-year students started their courses at the University of Sunshine Coast Sippy Downs Campus on Monday 25 February.

The recent orientation week brought crowds of keen students hailing from Mackay to Mango Hill, and Melbourne to Maryland.

The celebrations started with a Welcome to Country by the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe and an official welcome by Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill and the launch of the 2019 High Performance Student Athlete Program.

School friends and new friends toured the campus, talked to USC staff about their degrees and enjoyed the sports, social and cultural clubs, market stalls and entertainment.

The University also has almost 1000 more new students starting their courses across its other campus locations.
