Noosa Rotary celebrates 100 years

The Rotary Easter egg river run with the Noosa Coast Guard was a huge success.

Noosa Rotary is celebrating 100 years of Rotary serving local and international needs of the community.

The Easter egg river run held with the Noosa Coast Guard on Sunday was a huge success.

The Coast Guard provided the Rotary Rescue boat and one other smaller boat for the event along with three Coast Guard members to make this event happen in a safe way.

The Easter Bunny was on board the Rotary Rescue boat with a big tub of Easter Eggs which were thrown out to the gathering of kids and parents who lined the foreshore all the way from the Coast Guard head quarters at Munna Point down to the Tewantin Harbour and back.

Rotarians were positioned along the river bank at different locations and were handing out Easter eggs and tennis balls to the children and parents who were gathered.

Other Rotarians were set up at the Pelican boat hire location and were treated to the excitement when the boat with Peter Rabbit on board came into the water’s edge and were showered with chocolate eggs.

Rotary was celebrating 100 years of Rotary in Australia (1921-2021) .

This event was so successful that Noosa Rotary intends to make this an annual event to be held at Easter along with partners The Coast Guard. Next year will be bigger and better.
