About a year after it went on the market the BIg Shell at Tewantin is still waiting for just the right owner.

Owners Pauline Daniel and Tim Kenway bought the business 17 years ago and found it to be “great fun”.

“People have been coming here since the 70s,” Pauline said.

“They come back with their kids. Everybody who lives here loves it.”

But now the couple’s children have grown up they want to travel and move on to new adventures.Built by the Andersons in the 1970s the Big Shell has always been a tourist attraction and a business attracting visitors to its array of shells and beach related items.

Pauline said the Andersons sold the business to the Fowlers and then they bought it.

While it’s always operated as a business, it could be turned into a house. Located in what Tim regards as “the best part of Tewantin” near a park and close to the river, the property is zoned residential with approval for a retail showroom.
