The revamped Sunshine Beach Skate Park reopened on 16 September, and council is throwing local skaters a party on 30 September to celebrate.
The fun will kick off from midday with live music, learn-to-skate classes, best-trick contests and skating demos.
Project officer Dallas Bickley said the new-look park catered for skaters of all levels of experience, with the new design providing a range of new challenges.
Council redesigned the 13-year-old park in consultation with local skaters.
A highlight of the park is the shire’s first in-ground skate bowl which features a taco-shaped corner.
The large existing steel half pipe remains and other elements of the design include a mini-half pipe, rollover with A-frame hubba, flat bank and jersey block, love seat quarter pipe and A-frame and flat steel rails.
