Top mileage for Noosa

WOW what a big few weeks for the Coast and especially Noosa, with the success of the Food and Wine Festival and last weekend’s Sport Festival.
Massive international and national PR, and it’s too hard to estimate the cash value of the tourist spend.
Congratulations to everyone involved from the organisers to the everyday volunteer and helper, it’s that united effort that generates and drives the success.
Noosa’s dynamic duo Perry and Vivian Taylor shared in some great PR for their beloved Noosa.
Most know they own Cafe Le Monde, Perry a former Ansett pilot who still dabbles in the odd flight every now and then. Presently he is the chief pilot for former world motorcycling champion Mick Doohan who rents his plane out to the rich and famous.
You guessed it, Perry had the pleasure of flying home to Los Angeles Johnny Depp’s dogs after they were ordered out of the country by Barnaby Joyce.
It must have been great discussion on-board between Perry and the two Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo.
But I suppose he didn’t care, seeing the cost of the excerise was around $400,000.
Perry knows you have bad days and good days, he also piloted the Rolling Stones during their Aussie national tour last year.
I am sure he would be promoting Noosa to all his passengers, which wouldn’t be a chore at all.
Wife Vivian is a respected doctor who has a keen interest in diets that could be dangerous to your health.
Vivian says “everything starts with the gut” and “its good that people are taking notice of what they are putting in their mouths”.
Vivian was front and centre in the weekend’s Brisbane cover story of Debunking diets, along with other respected doctors, nutritionists and lecturers.
The warning of eating the right foods, stay away from sugar, fad diets and keep on the healthy regime.
Dr Taylor pinpoints her actions of looking at a person as a whole person to try to find out the causes, so people can manage themselves.
It’s no wonder hubby Perry looks a million dollars, and no doubt will continue flying the stars where and when ever needed.
The old saying, one man’s loss is another man’s gain is pretty spot on with the sad closing of the once-popular Noosa Heads Bowls Club.
For 45 years, the club operated until its forced closure two weeks ago.
It’s the second bowls club in the area, following Peregian, to close its doors.
Once a terrific vibrant club and a real hub of entertainment for the Junction over the years.
The club also produced some champions with both national reps Kelsey Cottrell and Julie Keegan starting their careers there.
The constitution was dissolved with each member receiving a dividend of the expected $2.1 million, allowing each member to take around $20,000 with them to a nominated club.
It appears Tewantin ($1.5 million) and Coolum ($700,000) are the big winners here. I just hope both clubs appreciate the goodwill here and show some the new members deserved respect.
Until next time.
