Police are investigating after a dead body was found washed up on Rainbow Beach during the early hours of Monday morning.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police were on scene just before 5.30am.
“We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man’s body on the beach this morning,” the QPS spokesman said.
“We are currently being assisted by the Lifeflight helicopter, however the investigation is only in its infancy.”
