Outstanding win for Tigers girls

The Rococo’s Bar and Bistro Noosa Tigers Under 15 Youth Girls have brought home the premiership flag after a comprehensive 46 point win over Kawana Park last Friday night at Maroochydore. The Tiger girls were simply outstanding with their pressure and team orientated football wooing a strong crowd at Fishermans road. For many it was their second flag in as many years however it was the way in which the girls performed throughout the entire night that had the strong Noosa faithful in raptures.

Hannah Mckenzie just shone from start to finish with her cleanness and running ability to be easily the best player on the ground. Mia Woodburn again dominated through the middle the entire game gathering heaps of the footy and tackling her heart out whilst the strength and courage of Queensland schoolgirl representatives Maggie Harmer and Keana Welsh was certainly on display.

Co-captains Emma Benjamin and Teesh Fox lead from the front with terrific games whilst power forward Imogen Van Der Vegt (four goals) as usual had a big influence on the game. Down back not much got passed Lauren Vaughan and Sari Abbott in what was the best defensive effort the girls have produced all year. Kate Roberts, Kalinda Caligari, Kaitlin Carney and Milly Ellis played their part down back whilst small forwards Chloe Pitts, Ella Reddaway and Scarlett Tait were busy and had a hand in several goals. Charlotte Sipp battled hard in the ruck all night in what really was just a terrific team performance on the big stage. Well done girls, it was a pleasure to watch!

Our Under 13 Girls unfortunately went down to a very different but powerful Maroochydore Flyers outfit but should hold their heads high on a fantastic year. The much younger and smaller Tigers were well served by usual suspects Kaiya hide and Poppy Tindal with Natasha Monaghan again showing us how much she has improved. Zoe wood and Sarah O’Connor battled hard for the runners up with so much promise to look forward to in the future.
