Take a leap into arts and crafts

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever” said Mahatma Gandhi. But just how difficult is it for us as we get older to take that first step into learning something new? Is it our fear of failing or perhaps daunting anxiety about joining new groups?

“Cast those feelings aside”, says Noosa Arts and Crafts Association president, Gabi Dick, “and come and learn or develop your interests in all things arts and crafts with us.

“Sometimes people can think you need to already have certain skills to become involved in one of our 30 plus groups.”

“Not at all. Our members range from true beginners through to talented professionals and everything in between. And everyone is very helpful whether you are a novice or somewhere along the path to a master artist or craftsperson.”

“After all this was how I started here over 20 years ago. I had no prior learning and joined a watercolour class with artist Hollie Simpson. Since then I have developed my skills in all art mediums and other areas as well as made some great friendships – all here at Noosa Arts and Crafts.”

Noosa Arts & Crafts are encouraging residents to come to visit them at Wallace House any day Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm and spend some time checking out the variety of creative activities. Timeslots of each group can be found on the website www.noosaartsandcrafts.org.au
