In an evening of glitz and glamour, the recent Surf Life Saving Sunshine Coast Awards of Excellence bought together members from across the Sunshine Coast along with special guests to celebrate the achievements of Sunshine Beach SLSC members during the 2018/2019 season.
The MC for the night was none other than the Sunshine Beach SLSC long time club member and Surf Life Saving legend Mr. Bill Twigger. Bill compered the evening with style and pizzaz and was fortunate enough to present some esteemed awards to some very deserving club members.
Shaun Lees, the Club’s outgoing JAC chief received the prestigious Andy Frizzell Award for his awesome work with their Nipper Program.
“Shaun has put countless hours into our Nipper program over the past two seasons to ensure our program is of a very high standard and covers all the Surf Life Saving Queensland requirements for the club to be able to safely run our Nipper program,” Sunshine Beach SLSC spokesperson Pauline Gleeson said.
Club President, Craig Law was awarded with the Sunshine Coast SLSC Volunteer of the Year and also the Silver Medallion Award for the Clive Hammond. Over the years his passion for all things Surf Life Saving has seen Craig volunteer hundreds of hours at Sunshine Beach SLSC. Covering everything from Club President, Vice Present, Pool Rescue Coach, Pool Rescue Team Manager, State Team Manager, Branch Team Manager, to Representative Team Selector.
“Thank you for many years of solid support for our wonderful club,” she said.
