Noosa Music Society is thrilled to welcome the world-class musicians from the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra back to Noosa on Sunday 25 August at 3.30pm with a program that is based on the blurring of the line between chamber and symphonic music of the Romantic era.
Now almost universally known in its full orchestral guise, the Brahms Serenade No. 1 started life as a chamber work – and it is the reconstructed nonet version that is presented in New Constellations. Several decades earlier, a young Mendelssohn’s experiments with making a small group of musicians sound like many, yielded his much-loved Octet for Strings.
Berlin-based violinist Jakob Lehmann leads an ensemble of specialist Australian and international chamber musicians featuring local historical clarinet specialist Nicole van Bruggen from Peregian Springs through these expansive sounds and pioneering ideas.
Don’t miss this concert at Good Shepherd Lutheran College, 115 Eumundi Road, Noosaville.
Tickets can be purchased from www.thej.com.au Box office or 60 Noosa Drive, Noosa Junction. For more information phone 5329 6560.
