Dan Purdie cheers on Eumundi Dragons

Dan Purdie visits Eumundi Dragons by Club President Doug Toms

Last Saturday 10 August the Eumundi Dragons Junior Rugby Union Club was delighted to have in attendance Dan Purdie, state member for Ninderry. Dan was present to cheer on the Dragons, meet the supporters and to present the club with a new 3m x 3m pop-up marquee which was put into immediate use as a base for sports medicine responders.

These responders attend all SCJRU matches at Eumundi to ensure that all players have professional first aid on site should the need arise.

Club president, Doug Toms, and the mighty Dragons U6’s were seen giving Dan a rousing cheer in front of the new tent.

U7’s match report by U7s Team Manager Jeremy Mansell

The Dragons U7’s had a great game against a determined USC team in the sunshine at Eumundi on Saturday. The team performed well across the park with strong efforts on defence and attack from several players. Passing from both teams was very good and is helping with continuity and ball movement. Some excellent passing and evasive running earned Tristan Youd the player of the week. Looking forward to next weeks’ game at Caloundra, go the Dragons!

U10’s Match Report by Team Manager Pamela Campbell-Jones

A tough game against Grammar for the U10 Dragons this weekend at home in Eumundi. Grammar had our boys on the back foot from the kick off and try as they might, the Dragons couldn’t pull the game back in the first half.

The second half saw the Dragons bounce back and there were some great tackles and strong runs from the boys. Grammar took home the win consolidating on their impressive first half. Man of the Match went to Craig for his strong leadership, and Tristan impressed and earned Most Improved.
