Noosa Council Local Laws officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding an alleged dog attack in Pomona.

Local Laws Manager Phil Amson said council received a complaint of an incident which occurred last Thursday.

“Our officers are currently investigating,” he said.

Mr Amson said council had recorded 80 dog attacks in the past 12 months.

“Forty-seven of these attacks have been on other animals, with 33 on people,” he said.

“Attacks are distressing for all involved so it’s extremely important for dog owners to know their responsibilities under the law, to avoid any potential incident.”
