Tigers demolish Sherwood

The Rococo Noosa Tigers belted cellar-dwellers Sherwood by 15 goals at Rococo oval last Saturday to remain sixth on the QAFL ladder heading into the bye this weekend.

Noosa were dominant from the first bounce as key onballers Wallis and Templeton looked to assert their authority at the coalface early and send the home side forward at a relentless pace.

Clever small forward Ethan Johnston put on a clinic in attack and had four majors by the the main break with Noosa up by almost 50 points.

Sherwood never threw the towel in and their chip it around and protect the footy style was a constant which can sometimes be very hard to conquer.

But on this occasion the Noosa side had all the answers as Wallis and Templeton continued to rack up possessions and high half forward Jai Fitzpatrick put on a show for the pro-Noosa Crowd.

The Prime Train Tommy Baulch also got in on the act booting three majors and having significant impact, particually in the second half. Seb Rodgers continued his good form while defender Lachy Flagg was just superb from the get go.

Riley Odwyer and Harry Opie were also solid contributors for the victors.

It was a really good, convincing win heading into the bye weekend where all our senior teams have the weekend off. The seniors sit at three wins and losses with their next opponent Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast on 14 May.

A great day was had by all at our president’s luncheon with special guest Luke Hodge. What a genuine champion on and off the field and his career and footy insights just a pleasure to hear.

A massive thank you to all that help put the day together.

Best of luck to all those representing the Noosa Tigers juniors this weekend, in particular our budding under 8s and 10s who start their 2022 campaigns.

Check out our social mediums for all other things Noosa Tigers and catch you down at training on Thursday night.
