Noosa Country Show program announced

The Noosa AH&I Society is all set to welcome everyone to this year’s Noosa Country Show and has an an impressive program lined up for people of all ages to enjoy.

It is a fantastic opportunity for people throughout the shire – those from the more urban parts of Noosa through to those with rural roots to come together in a real spirit of community. This sentiment is reflected in the show’s theme, Where town meets country.

“We know there are so many young people especially who have had limited opportunities to learn about the agricultural and horticultural heritage of our community, to learn where their food comes from,“ society president Rob Graham said.

“At the show, they can be introduced to farm animals at the petting zoo, see the judging of stud beef, and look through the different flower, cookery, and craft displays.”

There will also be events for the whole family, like the traditional side show alley and Friday night fireworks, and the immensely popular Honky Tonk Rodeo on Saturday afternoon, which draws hundreds of people of all ages.

“The equestrian events are the mainstays of any show, from the Ekka to our smaller Noosa Country Show, and the horsemanship over both days of the show is world class,“ Rob said.

“We all know that the wood chopping competition has been a favourite for generations, and it will take place from Saturday morning, with world-champion axemen competing. We are delighted that for the first time at our show a female wood chopping event is being included by the organisers.”

The Society is especially pleased to have passionate horseman Guy McLean at the show on both days. Guy’s shows and demonstrations have been met with acclaim both in Australia and internationally.

The annual Noosa Country Show kicks off on Friday 9 September (Noosa Show Day public holiday), and continues on Saturday 10 September.

Tickets to the show can be purchased at noosashowsociety.org.au/buytickets
