Visit Council’s Noosa Country Show marquee

Visitors can grab a dagwood dog, some fairy floss and score some free Noosa Aquatic Centre and Noosa Leisure Centre passes when visiting the Noosa Council stand at the Noosa Country Show on 9 and 10 September.

Expect to see a hive of activity at the Council marquee at the Pomona Showgrounds, including fun library activities for under-fives, an interactive recycling quiz, hands-on creative fun for the whole family by the Noosa Regional Gallery, and much more.

Council’s public relations officer Heather Williams said the library team would be bringing their Seed Library, Book Bike and reading mat, while the Go Noosa transport team would be there to share their car-free tips and tricks including a sustainable school travel challenge.

“We are excited to offer the Heritage Noosa online collection and educate about Noosa’s plants and wildlife from the Parks and Gardens team,” Ms Williams said.

Additionally, for those who are keen on getting outdoors and hiking, they can find out more about the Noosa Trail Master Plan and the Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan at the Council stand.

With storm season coming up, visitors will also have the chance to talk to the disaster management team and pick up copies of Council’s Noosa Emergency Action Guide.

Ms Williams said the Country Show offered light-hearted fun, but was also a great opportunity to engage with and educate the public on several topics and projects.

“Our Climate Change Team will be on deck to offer great tips and advice on how businesses and residents can reduce their electricity bills, save money and help Noosa reduce its carbon footprint.  We can also help Noosa prepare for the impacts of more severe weather events,” added Ms Williams.

Council’s marquee will be located just left of the main entrance gate.
