Noosa SES equipped with metal detector

The Rotary Club of Noosa hands over the donation to Warren Kuskopf and Michael Rodway.

The Rotary Club of Noosa recently donated a metal detector to the Noosa SES.

Present were Peter McDonald, Tess Alexandroff and Glenn Brown of Noosa Rotary.

On receiving the detector, Warren Kuskopf, local controller, and Michael Rodway, the deputy local controller of the Noosa Unit, North Coast Region, said, “The Noosa State Emergency Service is extremely appreciative of the Rotary Club of Noosa’s recent donation of a metal detector.“

“An important and vital function of the SES is assisting the Queensland Police Service with land search for missing persons and forensic and crime scene search.

“It is not uncommon that our members may be looking for in these searches, items of interest which may be of small metal construction.

“In the past, the Noosa SES, has borrowed metal detectors from other units.

“This generous donation by Rotary will assist our volunteers and QPS, during what can often be, extremely difficult and physically demanding tasks.

“Thank you very much the Rotary Club of Noosa, your constant support for our organisation motivates our members to do the best they can for the community they are assisting.”
