Zonta stands against violence

Each year, from 25 November to 10 December the United Nations Women’s 16 Days of Activism campaign calls for action against one of the world’s most persistent violations of human rights – violence against women.

During the 16 Days of Activism people around the world will unite to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge discriminatory attitudes and call for improved laws and services to end violence against women for good.

The Zonta Club of Noosa will play its part in raising awareness by holding an event at the Riverstage, Lions Park, Gympie Terrace, Noosaville at 5.30pm on 27 November where they will be highlighting the issue of gender-based violence against women in Australia.

Violence against women is not inevitable – it is preventable. You are invited to join us for a candlelight vigil and walk along the river to honour those who have lost their lives through domestic violence.
