The Audreys to perform in Eumundi

Indie/folk pop artist Tobias.

Americana/alt-country darlings and multiple ARIA award winners The Audreys are back and will be taking to the stage in The Brewery at The Imperial Hotel Eumundi on Saturday 28 January 2023 for a night of beautiful music, supported by Tobias Band.

Led by sultry songstress Taasha Coates, The Audreys have graced almost every major festival in Australia and played more gigs than they can count.

They’ve rocked festivals and clubs in Europe and North America, sold songs to films and TV shows far and wide, written music for live theatre, won awards, hit the charts, gone gold and pawned their very hearts for rock and roll.

The Audreys began as university buddies and songwriting duo Taasha Coates and Tristan Goodall, forming in Adelaide in 2004.

They released their first album ‘Between Last Night And Us’ in 2006. The album went on to win that year’s ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album and was certified Gold for record sales, catapulting them onto the national stage.

Singles Oh Honey and You and Steve McQueen received high rotation on Triple J, and over the coming years the band played Blues and Roots Festival, Falls Festival, Port Fairy, Splendour and everything in between.

In 2008 they released their follow up album, won a second ARIA, and began touring in North America. In 2011 they released their third album ‘Sometimes The Stars’, picked up yet another ARIA, and scored a major synch placement in the US show ‘One Tree Hill’.

In 2014 The Audreys made a music video with Adelaide dance troupe Restless Dance Theatre. That year’s album ‘Till My Tears Roll Away’ was again nominated for an ARIA but lost to John Butler.

In 2016 Taasha released her first solo album ‘Taasha Coates and Her Melancholy Sweethearts’, recorded with fellow musician Shane Nicholson. Tristan helped write the album, so they kind of considered it the fifth Audreys album.

In July 2022, Tristan sadly passed away from a long illness. Before retiring from touring, Tristan had given Taasha his blessings for her to continue what they started, and she has been touring with a new line-up who’ll join her in Eumundi – with Tom Kneebone on guitar, Beej Barker on drums and Felicity Freeman on bass.

The Audreys have been back in the studio and are ready for a new release in 2023, so be the first to hear some of the new songs – along with all the old favourites of course.
