Friends and family will farewell Simon Kuring, one of Noosa’s most colourful identities, with a wake and celebration of his life at Simon’s Sunday Devotions riverside table on Gympie Terrace on Sunday 22 January.
The humble table, opposite Munna Beach Resort and modified by Simon with extra umbrella holes for all-day sun protection, hosted Sunday morning champagne-fuelled devotions over many years, with the leading lights of Noosa’s demi-monde sharing (and shouting) their views on the issues of the day.
Although it won’t be the same without him (what wake is!), older brother Nic said this celebration, open to all who knew him, would celebrate Simon with laughter as well as tears.
The wake will start at 10am, with attendees asked to bring a plate and their libation of choice.
