Marcus resident Peter Fries came across a tragic loss while walking on the beach last Friday evening.
“I came across this tragedy – fishing line wrapped around a turtle who must have drowned,“ he said.
“I saw the article [in last week’s Noosa Today] on protecting hatchlings, but if they end up like this, the species is doomed.
“This is entirely preventable.“
