Water is back on for Noosaville customers

Water is back on early for Noosaville customers today, with emergency works to a broken water main finished at 3am this morning (Thursday 16 February) and four hours ahead of schedule.

Unitywater Executive Manager for Customer Delivery shared the good news that customers could start their days like normal with drinking water at their taps.

“We’re really happy to share that our emergency works in Noosaville overnight went to plan and water was back on from 3am,” he said.

“We’ve had a dedicated team working through the night and our crews have done a fantastic job to safely repair the main and get customers back on supply sooner.

“We know that outages are inconvenient and we appreciate everyone’s patience as we repaired the water main.

“The location of the main and the way the network drains and fills means we had a complex job ahead of us and Unitywater notified customers ahead of the works to prepare for an extended outage to 7am this morning (Thursday 16 February).”

“Thank you to our customers for your understanding during these emergency works.”

Customers might experience some cloudy or milky water as a result of the overnight repair works and Unitywater advises the water is safe to drink. Running outside taps for five minutes will help to flush any air in the pipes and water should run clear.
