Leading aged care provider appoints new CEO

Leading aged care provider NoosaCare has announced the appointment of their new chief executive officer.

Grant Simpson joined the NoosaCare team as CEO in late January this year.

He brings extensive experience in the aged care, medical research and community care sectors, having worked as a Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Anglicare Sydney, Foundation Director at Neuroscience Research Australia, CEO at MWP Care and CEO of Lifeline South West QLD.

Grant said it was a privilege to be a part of the NoosaCare team.

“I am thoroughly impressed with the dedication our staff and volunteers have to supporting the dignity and individuality of each of our residents,“ he said.

“Supporting people in our community as they age is a vital area for us all, and I’m excited to play a role in charting NoosaCare’s future to ensure the choices and wellbeing of our residents are at the heart of all we do.

“A key area of focus for NoosaCare will be the development of a new strategic plan, which enables NoosaCare to be well positioned to meet the future needs of older people. We are reviewing which areas of support will be most in demand in the future and which NoosaCare is best equipped to deliver against.

“Building a skilled and capable workforce is a critically important area for NoosaCare. Our goal is to be an employer of choice in the Noosa Region, attracting staff who are dedicated to the care of others and who are looking for career development pathways.“

NoosaCare’s president Ann Harrap said, “Following the Royal Commission, there are significant changes taking place in the aged care sector and residential aged care facilities need to adapt to stay viable and sustainable.

“The Board welcomes Grant’s experience in driving strategic change but also his new ideas to help shape NoosaCare’s future in the best interests of our residents.“

NoosaCare is a boutique aged care provider with villages at Tewantin (Carramar) and Kabara (Cooroy). NoosaCare is home for 261 residents with 64 residents in specialised dementia living accommodation.
