The Coast Guard launched Cooloola Rescue to take officers of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and their equipment out to a burning yacht off Norman Point in Tin Can Bay.

Members of the Coast Guard said the steel hulled vessel was well alight and took considerable time to extinguish.
