Katie Rose a Cup winner

This year, Katie Rose Cottage Hospice was chosen by local fine dining restaurant Alba Noosa and luxury car dealership Lexus as the charity partner for a glamorous and warm-hearted Melbourne Cup event.

Head of fundraising and partnerships Leigh McCready said, “Katie Rose Cottage Hospice has worked closely with Alba over the past two years as the venue for our annual fundraising gala. So, when they asked us to run the sweepstakes for their private Luxus Melbourne Cup event we jumped at the opportunity!”

“More than 80 people gathered and enjoyed a sumptuous three course meal designed by Peter Kuruvita, Alba’s chef and national Lexus Ambassador, with free-flowing champagne and fine wines and big screen TVs to show all the race action.

“Olympian boxer and long-term Noosa local Benny Pike came on board to run a live auction of a 50cc scooter, kindly donated back to Katie Rose by the scooter raffle winner at our recent Gather and Graze fundraiser.

“Overall, a total of nearly $10,000 was raised for the fit out of the extension to our hospice from three to five rooms.”
