Coles Noosa revealed its revamped supermarket to locals and holiday-goers on Wednesday 6 December, showcasing the store’s most significant design update in more than a decade.
The revamp features an open-front bakery stocked with a large range of fresh flatbread, pastries, celebration cakes and sourdough, while a delectable frozen dessert bar featuring mochi, mini gelato and macarons will offer a welcome refreshment from the summer heat, and a new pet treat bar will be a favourite for shoppers’ furry friends.
Coles Noosa Store Manager Shane Hopkins, who has worked with Coles for 25 years, said he was eager to welcome shoppers into the reinvigorated store, just in time for the bustling Christmas period.
“We are a high-profile store, and the renewal comes at a perfect time to provide an elevated shopping experience for locals and holiday-goers as we head into the holiday season,” he said.
“We have recruited more than 15 new hires to the team in the last three months ahead of the upcoming busy period, many of whom are local high school students.”
As part of the supermarket’s ongoing commitment to the community, Coles Noosa will support a number of local groups including charity SecondBite; where all unsold edible fresh food from this store will be donated to the charity to distribute to those in need.
Coles Noosa Service Manager Michael Ascott has worked with Coles for six years and said he has enjoyed supporting in-store fundraising initiatives to create a positive impact on the community.
“I am passionate about fostering community support and take great pride in rallying behind Aussie charities like Hummingbird House and SecondBite,” Michael said.
“Our team members and customers regularly come together for BBQs and other fundraising initiatives to raise much-needed funds that contribute to making a huge difference for local charities.”
Coles Noosa will be supporting Coles’ 2023 SecondBite Christmas Appeal with funds raised enabling SecondBite to continue its invaluable work of rescuing unsold edible food and redistributing it to more than 1000 community food relief partners across Australia to feed those who are struggling.
Shoppers can purchase a $2 donation card or make a donation of their choice at a Coles supermarket checkout until Christmas Eve.
The reinvigorated supermarket also prioritises sustainability with the installation of new fridge doors and air conditioning to reduce energy consumption.
