The Barossa Valley came to Noosa for an exclusive evening of wine education.
Local wine enthusiasts got a masterclass in wine appreciation from leading sommelier, wine educator and cellar doctor, Peter Healy,
Guests enjoyed tastings of some of the top drops from SA traditional Barossa wine-maker Travis Earth.
A national first was a surprise pre-release sampling of the winery’s new Semillon-Viognonier, never before tasted by the Australian public.
Guests at the Coral Beach Resort event received valuable advice from Peter on how to correctly store wines, even without a wine fridge or cellar, and when to recognise a wine has reached its best level.
“Wine is a living thing in a bottle. It has a finite life,“ Peter said.
“Too many people keep good wine for a special occasion, and when they finally open the bottle, find they have ended up with cooking wine, because they have kept it for too long.”
Peter Healy will return to the Sunshine Coast for another wine event later this year.
