Sneak peak delights crowds

Around 3000 people turned out to have a sneak peak at the Gympie Bypass Community Open Day on Saturday.

Between 11am and 4pm, shuttle buses were ferrying the crowds to the event, giving passengers the opportunity to ride on the new bypass for several kilometres across Tin Can Bay Road and using the Gympie Connection Road on and off-ramps.

Historic and classic cars and motorcycles were spread out for almost a kilometre and stalls and entertainment, food trucks and more were set out for two kilometres more, that’s before pedestrians had the opportunity to walk a 2.5km stretch of the new highway up to the Six Mile bridge and back.
