Coolum Beach Bar makes waves with its official opening

Located just steps from the surf, an exciting new venue is bringing the Beach Bar vibes to the shores of Coolum, promising a laid-back atmosphere, epic eats, and a connection to the community like never before.

Building on the success of Kings Beach Bar and Cotton Tree Beach Bar, founded by local mates Jonny Giles, Gavin Smith and Matt Hope, this latest chapter marks a return to what truly matters — creating a space where locals and visitors can come together to soak up the best of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

Coolum Beach Bar honours the unique legacy of Coolum, blending its rich history with the signature hospitality, fresh flavours, and welcoming energy that The Beach Bars are known for.

Jonny Giles said, “We couldn’t be more excited to plant our feet in Coolum.”

“This community is at the heart of what makes the Sunshine Coast special, and we’re stoked to be part of it.

“We’ve designed Coolum Beach Bar to feel like an extension of the beach itself—where the sand meets good vibes, and everyone’s welcome to kick back and stay a while.”

Coolum Beach Bar delivers fresh, locally sourced menus featuring classic Beach Bar staples and some unique surprises. Whether you’re grabbing a post-surf smoothie, enjoying a long lunch overlooking the waves, or kicking off the evening with a craft cocktail, there’s something for everyone. The venue boasts gluten-free options at no extra charge and proudly showcases products from Sunshine Coast suppliers.

“We’ve always been about more than just great food and drinks,” Jonny said.

“Coolum Beach Bar is a space where memories are made, where locals and visitors alike can share stories, laughter, and that unbeatable Coolum sunset.”
