Police arrest six people after tracking two stolen cars

Police arrested six people in the early hours of Thursday 10 April, after tracking two alleged stolen cars in Mountain Creek and Pelican Waters.

Police were called to Lurnea Crescent, Mountain Creek around midnight to reports a car had been stolen from an address.

A short time later, around 12.30am, police found the alleged stolen silver Kia Carnival on Powers Road, Sippy Downs where it had been abandoned.

Police and the Dog Squad searched the area, locating and arresting a 16-year-old Minyama boy at a bus stop on Dixon Road.

The boy has been charged with one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, unlawful use of motor vehicle and unauthorised dealing with shop goods.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 16 April.

The Kia Carnival will undergo forensic examination.

Later, around 2.30am, police identified an alleged stolen white Kia Cerato on Peter Crosby Way, Sippy Downs and again on Pelican Waters Boulevard, Pelican Waters.

Police tracked and intercepted the vehicle on Lake Vista Lane around 2.40am. Five people ran from the scene.

Police and the Dog Squad searched the area and located and arrested four teenage boys in bushland opposite Twiddle Drive.

A fifth boy was then located and arrested walking on Pelican Waters Boulevard shortly after.

A 15-year-old Buddina boy has been charged with one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Childrens Court on 16 April.

Investigations are ongoing in relation to a 15-year-old Alexandra Headland boy, 15-year-old Bells Creek boy, 16-year-old Nambour boy, and 14-year-old Landsborough boy.

The Kia Cerato was allegedly stolen from a Wurtulla address between 11pm on April 8 to 6.45am on 9 April.

Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
