Nominate a volunteer for Queensland Day Awards

There’s something about Noosa that inspires a desire to give back, with our community full of selfless and inspirational volunteers who bring joy and much-needed relief to so many. Whether assisting our most vulnerable, caring for our environment, supporting our culture and sporting organisations, or participating in any other act of unpaid kindness, now is the time to show our appreciation for these incredible Noosans!

Celebrating its seventh year, the Queensland Day Awards are an opportunity for our community to honour these often-unsung heroes. It is about nominating those who give their time, effort and expertise for the benefit of our community, and Noosa MP Sandy Bolton is encouraging all clubs and organisations to get involved and share what makes their volunteers special.

“On Queensland Day, we celebrate what makes our community great, from our culture and heritage to our unique Noosa identity and, most importantly, our people!”

“It is a day to honour those Queenslanders who inspire us all to do better and be better. So many Noosans do this by volunteering for the benefit of others and our collective community, and these awards are to celebrate and recognise their efforts,” said Ms Bolton.

Since its inception, the nominations have continued to grow, with another strong response anticipated this year. Local community groups can nominate, until 12pm on 19 May, anyone who has not received a Noosa Queensland Day Award before and has volunteered for at least two years within the Noosa state electorate or provided services for our residents. Each club and/or organisation can submit up to two nominations.

All successful nominees will receive a personalised Noosa electorate Queensland Day Award medallion and a certificate of recognition at the Queensland Day Awards ceremony on Friday 6 June at The J.

The annual Noosa electorate Queensland Day Awards are proudly presented by Noosa MP Sandy Bolton and sponsored by Noosa Today and the Cooroy RSL.

“We are very grateful to be able to support the Noosa Electorate Queensland Day Awards again this year. We have a wonderful community that we are very proud to be a part of. There is a myriad of community organisations and the contributions of volunteers that we honour at these awards helps make our community so special,” Cooroy RSL general manager Helen Hollingworth said.
