LifeFlight’s free First Minutes Matter workshops are heading to Cooroy next week, to teach the community lifesaving skills that can help in an emergency.
In this course, attendees will learn about safety at an accident scene, how to treat burns and bleeding, snakebites, choking, strokes, seizures and how to perform CPR and use an AED.
Retiree Robert Barrett said the free workshop was a great opportunity to brush up on his skills.
“I feel confident that I could help in an emergency situation, and I encourage other people to attend First Minutes Matter as the skills you learn may help to save a life one day,” Mr Barrett said.
The workshops are taught by medical experts and what you learn in these five and a half hour sessions could save a loved one, a neighbour, or a stranger in their time of need.
The workshop is on Wednesday 7 May at the Nook, Shop 10/1 Diamond Street Cooroy.
