Surf Film Festival receives 44 entries from across the globe

Film submissions for the upcoming Noosa International Surfilm Festival have officially closed, with an impressive 44 films entered from around the world.

Submissions have rolled in from surf-loving nations including Chile, Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, the USA, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Sri Lanka—and of course, Australia.

This year’s program will feature a dynamic mix of Global, Australian, and Queensland premieres, showcasing the breadth of surf culture and storytelling across the globe.

Renowned filmmaker and judging panel member Mick Sowry remarked on the films passed onto the judges, “The films are of remarkable quality, all with captivating stories.”

Festival director Jesca Maas said, “With such strong entries, our panel of esteemed judges have their work cut out for them. Filmmakers will be notified of the final film selection in early May at the latest, and the official program will be announced on 22 May.”

The Festival runs 19–21 June 2025 in Noosa, Queensland. Early bird tickets are on sale now at noosaisff.com.au
