Sunny Coast’s Got Talent ensures market day fun

Market stalls, a talent show and interactive experiences… this is a free event you can’t afford to miss.

The Sunshine Coast community is invited to at the FUNctional Market Day on Sunday 30 November, from 10am to 1pm at Venue 114, Bokarina.

Hosted by Sunshine Coast Council, the event will showcase the creativity, capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit of people with disabilities through market stalls, live entertainment, workshops and interactive experiences.

A highlight of the day will be Sunny Coast’s Got Talent, a vibrant talent show featuring local performers of all abilities sharing music, dance, comedy, and more.

Any person keen to participate and showcase their talent can register on the day with The Ability Collective.

The show celebrates diversity and community spirit in a fun and supportive environment.

Attendees can also participate in two empowering workshops:

– Be Your Own Boss by Carers Queensland (10.15am–11.15am), offering practical advice for aspiring entrepreneurs.

– Emergency Preparedness for People with Disabilities (11.30am–12.30pm), providing essential tips for staying safe during emergencies.

The event, which celebrates Disability Action Week, includes a sensory room, lucky door prizes, and refreshments available from STEPS Café.

Accessible digital tools from Cérge will be available to support attendees with personalised venue information and communication. See below for further information.

Sunshine Coast Division 3 Councillor Tim Burns said this event showcased the creativity and capability of our community.
