Motorbike riders airlifted

The LifeFlight helicopter rescue and medivac service has flown an injured man, in his 40s, to Sunshine Coast University Hospital after acrash near Landsborough.(496669_01)

The LifeFlight rescue and aeromedical service has airlifted a trailbike rider who suffered “significant chest injuries” in a crash in a national park near Landsborough.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the injured man was riding with a friend in a national park in the Moreton Bay region, when the crash occurred on Saturday 16 August.

“The rescue chopper was tasked by Retrieval Services Queensland at 10:30am,” the spokesperson said.

“The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for significant chest injuries.

“The man in his 40s was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.”
