A man in his 20s is in a life-threatening condition after suffering significant burns at a restaurant fire in Noosaville on Wednesday 8 October.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said multiple paramedics attended the scene where a man suffered significant burns to his face, neck and both arms.

“He was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a life-threatening condition,” a QAS spokesman said.

A Noosa Heads Police sergeant confirmed they attended the scene of a non-suspicious fire, which would likely be investigated by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

Firefighters arrived at 1.50pm, but the kitchen blaze had already been extinguished, a Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said.

CORRECTION: The restaurant involved in the incident was Blue Bar (formerly Whiskey Boy), not Sardo Noosa, as the article previously stated.
