A 21-year-old woman has died after being struck by lightning at the Cooroy Sporting Complex on Thursday evening.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said paramedics were tasked to reports of a person struck by lightning at a location on Mary River Road at 5.14pm.
One patient, a woman in her 20s, was treated in a life-threatening condition and transported to Nambour Hospital with Critical Care Paramedics on board, QAS said.
The woman succumbed to her injuries and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
