The Noosa Netball Association has celebrated 50 years with an impressive 2025.
On December 8, eight participating clubs from the greater Noosa Shire converged on the courts of the Tewantin Sports Complex, with a colourful ‘March Past’ event kicking off Saturday Netball in Autumn.
It set the pace for a packed programme for every age and ability.
There were the Modified, Junior and Twilight competitions for school-aged children, a Monday-night Indoor Ladies draw, adult mixed teams, and Walking Netball for mature players.
May’s 50th anniversary bash celebrated the history of the association, though President Beverly Bullivant believes the future of Noosa Netball lies in growth and the talent pipeline.
It begins with NetSetGO, an entry-level program for juniors, designed to introduce the sport in a safe, fun way. “In 2025, participation doubled to sixty children, which bodes well for our sport here in the Noosa Shire,” said Bullivant.
For players wanting to take their game to the next level, the association hosted Sunshine Coast Lightning’s Liz Watson’s first-ever training and motivational clinic for “The Lab.” Many of the juniors who took part progressed to Representative trials, with an eye on next year’s Queensland Junior State Age Tournament.
This year, Noosa fielded four teams at the prestigious event, proving the enviable depth of talent in the region and enduring love for the game.
