A fresh era in Sunshine Coast accommodation begins this April with the opening of the 180-room Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel, marking the first major internationally branded leisure hotel to open here since 1988. The hotel boasts a prime location in the heart of Mooloolaba, moments from the beach, restaurants, boutiques and experiences. Boutique farm stays on the Sunshine Coast
Following on the success of its luxury farm stay experience, Sixty6 Acres has unveiled an on-site restaurant, six mineral plunge pools, a suite of new activities and 93 powered caravan and camping sites. Meanwhile, Mayan Farm in the Noosa hinterland has added four beautifully crafted, self-contained villas made from rammed earth and recycled timber, each offering tranquil views across its 100-acre property. Opening in February, Seven Hills Estate brings a regenerative eco-farm stay to the region, featuring three private, luxury cabins set beside Conondale National Park where guests can disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. A swim in the cooling waters of Booloumba Falls is an absolute ‘must-do’ for visitors.
Accessible tours in some of the Sunshine Coast’s most prized locations
Private tour operator, Sunny Jeeps, has launched an inclusive adventure tour designed to welcome guests who benefit from supported or flexible touring. The experience caters to travellers with mobility considerations, cognitive or learning differences, reduced stamina, low vision or blindness (including guests travelling with Guide Dog), or those who prefer extra time, space or personalised communication. Touring options include the Beach Adventure, which explores the Great Beach Drive to Double Island Point, or the Hinterland Adventure taking guests deep into the Conondale National Park rainforest.
New farm-to-fork hinterland hotspot
Situated on a 30-acre regenerative agritourism site brimming with food, nature, and community, Alsawha Estate has shifted from its original Verrierdale macadamia farm to forge a new chapter in Palmwoods, with the addition of its on-site restaurant, ēthos. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is crafted with fresh, spray-free ingredients, harvested straight from the on-site gardens and sourced from local farmers. Every meal is designed with intention and made to be shared.
Dreaming Trails Tour
The Dreaming Trails Tour offers a deeply immersive way to engage with the Sunshine Coast’s Indigenous heritage and local flavours. Created by First Nations bushfoods pioneer Aunty Dale Chapman of My Dilly Bag and hosted by Mystic Mountain Tours, the experience begins at QCamel Dairy with tastings and stories that highlight camels’ ties to First Nations communities. Guests then head to TribalLink Activity Centre for ochre painting, bushcraft and a bush-inspired waterhole lunch before concluding at My Dilly Bag for more tastings and Aunty Dale’s warm hospitality.
