Man charged with 77 offences

A 45-year-old man has been charged with 77 offences following an extensive investigation into alleged property crime and vehicle thefts across south-east Queensland.

Police allege the offences occurred between 16 January and 1 March across the Brisbane south, Logan, Ipswich and Toowoomba policing districts.

The investigation was led by the Bayside Property Crime Team, with assistance from the South Brisbane District Intelligence Unit.

On 6 March, with the assistance of specialist police, officers located and arrested the man on Glendon Street at North Booval.

Police also seized a blue Mitsubishi Pajero at the scene that allegedly had false number plates. Investigators claim the vehicle had been stolen from an address on Redland Bay Road at Capalaba on 28 January.

The following day, investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Kholo Road at Kholo with assistance from the Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad and Goodna police.

Police allege the search uncovered a number of stolen items, including a grey Mitsubishi Pajero, two box trailers, a blue Toyota LandCruiser utility, a Caterpillar excavator and a shipping container filled with tools and vehicle parts.

Investigators allege the Mitsubishi Pajero had been stolen from a Wondall Road address at Tingalpa on 28 July 2025, while the excavator was allegedly taken from a Bukulla Street address at Wacol on 21 June 2024.

The man has been charged with 36 counts of stealing, 20 counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, 15 counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, and one count each of attempted entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, wilful damage, dangerous operation of a vehicle and evasion.

He first appeared in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on 7 March where he was remanded in custody. He is due to appear before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 13 April.

Police say investigations are continuing.
