This year’s Body Art Festival which will be coming to Cooroy on 6 and 7 April will be truly other worldly.

A festival like no other, the body painting event this year has been themed, Other Worlds. It will bring together a collection of creative artists who will complete their human canvases at Apex Park and include a range of free activities.Amazing full body painting offers a spectacular backdrop to a fun filled two-day packed program of music, dancing, interactive art and street performers. The Noosa Outback Main Stage has entertainment from the likes of The Moonsets, Baja, Pineapple Crush, Let’s Dance Latin and Jamison Kehl.

Gubbi Gubbi Dance will be providing cultural entertainment and workshops including aboriginal style body art, ochre painting and storytelling.

For anyone interested in trying their hand at creating art from recycled materials, Reverse Garbage are conducting wearable art workshops each day from 10am to 3pm providing materials, tools and inspiration. On Sunday there is also a parade of the amazing wearable art competition with full costumes made from recycled materials.

There is even a play zone with children’s shows, giant games like Jenga and Connect 4, workshops and laser assault skirmish.

The festival which is run by Cooroy Chamber of Commerce volunteers has obtained assistance from numerous local sponsors and funding from the Federal Australian which has contributed $34,500 to facilitate the move to the new venue of Apex Park and expand its entertainment program and the Queensland Government which has provided $12,000 for marketing and infrastructure.

while also growing the festival and providing an extended entertainment program across the weekend.

The Australian Body Art Festival is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Destination Events Program, which has provided an additional $12,000 in funding for marketing and infrastructure support. The event features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar, which is worth $800m to the state’s economy in 2019.
