Concert for a cause

Join legendary Sunnie Coast musician Barry Charles and friends for a concert for a cause to raise funds for locals John Blahuta and Kylie Camilleri to participate in the 2022 Shitbox Rally, the largest community- led fundraiser for the Cancer Council Australia.

The concert at Pomona’s Majestic Theatre on Saturday 19 March will showcase some of the extraordinary talents of Sunshine Coast musicians who are donating their time and talent for the cause.

Shitbox Rally Autumn 2022 has teams driving from Wollongong to Mackay over six days. Each team must raise a minimum of $5000 to gain entry into the Rally, with the funds going directly to the Cancer Council.

Verrierdale locals Kylie Camilleri and John Blahuta write: “As with many of you, cancer has touched our lives and is a cause close to our hearts. JB spent many years as a volunteer lifesaver at Peregian Beach and Kylie as a companion with Camp Quality. We wish to give back again through participating in the rally and raising funds. We are participating as The Gangsters, named after our rock ‘n’ blues band. JB plays rhythm guitar and I sing and play bass. We are joined at different times by our wonderful band of friends, Barry Charles, Linda Jones and Lance Suttie, Paul Camilleri, Tony Camilleri and Paul Blahuta.”

Concert For A Cause, Majestic Theatre, Pomona, 7-10pm Saturday 19 March.Tickets $30/ $25 concession. Doors open 6pm. Bookings: themajestictheatre.com.au/whats-on-new-events
