Lyrics from the musical Fame, “bring on tomorrow, we can’t wait,“ strike a chord for Grade 12 students, Ragjallaigh Archbold Smith, Jack Miller, Evie McDonald, Lani Harrison and Jasmin Joseph.

With final school exams just around the corner, these five Little Seed Theatre Company members are beginning to dream of bright lights, distant lands and bigger things.

Little Seed Theatre Company has a strong reputation for training in the performing arts.

In the past six weeks the company has seen great results at the Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod, taking first, second and third places in the Senior Drama Championships.

Three weeks later the company was awarded Second Best Play, Best Male Actor, Best Supporting Male Actor, Best Supporting Female Actor, Best Actor in a Minor Role and the Adjudicator’s Award in both the Junior and Senior Sections at the Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Festival.

Topping all of this off, Little Seed also competed this past weekend in the Shorts on Stage Competition winning the Audience Choice Award for their 10-minute play, The Secret Origin of Mojo Man, and Adjudicator’s Award for Best Performer, awarded to Callum Johnston.

As Little Seed gears up for their next big production, FAME, company director Johanna Wallace said, “art is definitely imitating life“ with many of her current Grade 12 performers reaching for placement in performing arts degrees.

“We can’t wait to see where these talented young performers end up,“ Ms Wallace said.

Fame plays at the J, Noosa on 23 and 24 September. Tickets are available at little-seed.com.au
