Joyful exhibition in Noosaville

Noosa artist Julia Carter’s paintings sparkle and shine with an essence that captures the very joy of life itself.

When you view her work you can’t help but smile and feel uplifted; such is her intention when she paints, and the aim of her upcoming exhibition ‘Joy’.

“I believe the positive energy and love I put into each piece will radiate out into the world wherever it’s needed,” Julia said.

Following a serious accident whilst early childhood teaching, she began painting for therapy, this became the catalyst for an incredible international art career.

Julia has exhibited all around the world including New York, Hong Kong, Paris, London, Florence and Vienna.

“Once I began, I knew I never wanted to stop, it was something I wanted to do forever, it was all meant to be. Many of my paintings are hung in medical institutions, such as the foyer of the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane, something for which I’m extremely grateful,” she said.

Julia now enjoys spending more time painting in her Studio Gallery in Noosaville and is excited to be presenting new smaller pieces for a Christmas celebration and exhibition focusing on bringing some positivity and helping others to connect and feel supported in the midst of such uncertain and challenging times.

She enjoys a playful intuitive approach combining mixed media, textured layers and jewelled embellishment to great effect, recently including crystals with the work for greater healing energy.

“I believe joy is something we connect to inside ourselves, a feeling that lights us up which might come from another’s smile, a sparkle on the ocean, walking in nature, some favourite music or meaningful art,” Julia said.

“It’s important to try and notice what these things are for us and do more of that so we can live a happy, healthy life, especially at the moment.”

Opening celebrations for Julia’s vibrant and colourful exhibition are Saturday 11 December from 4 to 6pm.

The exhibition continues until 24 December, open 10am-3pm, (closed Sunday).

Find the exhibition at 6/33 Gateway Drive Noosaville. For more information visit juliacarterartist.com or call 0414 638 096.
