For their final appearance of the year at Cooroy, Pacific Chamber Players are presenting “Baroque Brilliance”—a selection of 17th and 18th century music which promises to be, well, brilliant!
Vivaldi, Handel and Purcell are among the renowned composers included in the programme selected by the nine Players — Anna Moores and Cathy Roberts (violin), Andrew Paszkowski (viola), Anne Bowyer (cello), Nik Davey (bass), Sue Hunkin (oboe), Neil Heymink (bassoon), Warren Brewer (trumpet), Janet Brewer (harpsichord).
They will present Handel’s Atalanta Overture, Vivaldi’s Concerto Ripieno in C major RV 114 and Concerto for Oboe and Bassoon RV 545, Purcell’s Trumpet Sonata in D, Brescianello’s Sonata for Two Violin and Continuo and Zelenka’s Sonata No 3.
Group leader Janet Brewer described the programme as “emotional and engaging, as only baroque can be.
