Design director opens new exhibition

Di Henshall, design director at Di Henshall Interior Design, will officiate at the opening event of the NACA Threads exhibition from 6pm on Friday 24 March at Wallace House, 1 Wallace Drive, Noosaville.

“I am passionate about design,” Di Henshall said.

“I live and breathe it, and I translate this into every project I work on.”

The Threads exhibition showcases distinctive textile-based arts and crafts, including hand-made paper and bookmaking, as well as more obvious threads-based artwork, such as quilts, crocheted and knitted pieces, embroidery work and many others.

“A lot of local artists have seen the Threads exhibition as a great opportunity to collaborate with other artists creating integrated art work that tells a story,” Noosa Arts and Crafts president Jan Bentley said.

“There have been so many amazing and thought-provoking interpretations of what a thread or threads might mean to communities and its people,” she said.

The first weekend of the Threads exhibition, 25 and 26 March, will feature a pop-up xafe at Wallace House Noosaville from 9am to 3pm.

The exhibition will run through to 24 April, including over the Easter long weekend. Open hours are from 9am to 3pm.
