Heath keeps ‘Rollin’ after Muster appearance

Mackay country artist Heath Milner has just played the Gympie Music Muster, where he was a finalist in the Mothertone Gympie Music Muster Talent Search, and now, he has just released his new single Rollin’ on 12 September, a song written during a trip to Nashville eight years ago.

The song, written with Nashville-based Norwegian songwriter “Boots” Ottestadm, who has worked with Robbie Williams, Noah Kahan, and Tim McGraw, and American songwriter Jeff Cohen, who can count Big & Rich, The Band Perry, Sugarland, and Mandy Moore among his clients, shows that Heath has the connections that matter.

“The inspiration came from where I was in life at the time,” Heath said.

“I was gigging, having a few drinks, and just doing what young musicians did at that time of my life. I sat down in the room with them, we started talking and came up with the idea, and ran with it. It’s happy, upbeat, and about keeping on going — just rollin’.”

With inspiration drawn from Garth Brooks and continuing Heath’s cowboy lifestyle theme, Rollin’ has been “sitting in the bank” since it was written.

“It’s about time we finally get this out,” Heath said.

“Hopefully, people enjoy it.”

The track features Liam Kennedy-Clark and Kelly Brouhaha on backing vocals, Lawrie Minson on harmonica, Michel Rose on steel, Mik McCartin on drums, and Liam on all other instruments.

A full-time musician, Heath is regularly on the road playing gigs around the Mackay region and Central Queensland, with appearances coming up at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January.
