What a Finale

Women Initiating New Directions Organization Inc brought the curtain down on Queensland Women’s Week with their collaborative variety show Steppin Out at the J Theatre Noosa.

The evening was a melting pot of talent consisting of 70 plus cast. Our ‘smoky’ top biller Catherine Alcorn hit the audience with power and per Nash. Comedy in the guise of Jenny Wynter our MC and Carolyn Manderslott ‘rocked them in the aisles’. Songbirds Alisha Todd (soloist) and Lara-Jane Stewart accompanied by ‘Love Junk’ each sang original compositions that left the audience wanting more.

Inspirational speakers James Greenshields and Tara Pitt brought tears to the eyes and heartfelt understanding of how depression and anxiety can impact on individuals and can be liberated through the support of family and community. They spoke about the steps they took as individuals to discover their fullest potential.

Sunshine Beach State High School and Noosa Professional Dance Academy validated that Noosa and the Sunshine Coast hold a rich environment of young talent.

Through events such as these we expand, foster and uphold the culture of honouring women across all societies. WINDO wishes to thank their Sponsors for this event Queensland Government, Noosa Today and Noosa Shores Resort.
