Maleny Music Festival announces line up for 2025

Get ready for a weekend of unforgettable music, vibrant culture, and community connection at the Maleny Music Festival, held across three full days this November 7-9 at the Maleny Showgrounds, nestled in the scenic Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Now in its 12th annual celebration of grassroots talent and heartfelt performances, the Maleny Music Festival brings together over 60 incredible acts across seven stages, with over 150 concerts, dances, workshops, and activities to keep the music flowing from morning to midnight.

Whether you’re camping under the stars or visiting for the day, the festival offers something for everyone, from traditional folk, Irish, blues, and Americana, to original songwriting, poetic storytelling, and world-class musicianship.

Festival director Rachel Clarke said there’s a strong line up for 2025.

“We’ve got our old favourites and lots of new talent in the mix too, from our folk roots to contemporary vocalists and sensational party bands to finish the night on,” she said.

“This is a showcase of the finest emerging and established talent that will leave you with a new favourite artist. There are 11 artists from overseas and interstate and a huge talent pool from Queensland.

She said Maleny Music Festival is a special event.

“I love the size of it, it’s perfect. It’s small enough that you can easily walk around, but it’s jam-packed with music and variety, just like the bigger festivals. Yet, it still gives you the vibe and intimacy of a smaller event. We really use the space well and make the most of every corner.

“There’s a strong community feel, it’s all run by volunteers. You can bring an instrument and join in at the sessions tent, help make lanterns or just connect with others. It’s interactive, welcoming, and full of heart.”

This year the festival is holding a Youth Showcase on the Friday night.

“We wanted to try something to give the younger artists their own spotlight with the aim of attract a young audience that evening,” she said.

The Maleny Music Festival is a full sensory experience, offering something for everyone.

Across multiple stages, you’ll find live performances from an exciting and diverse lineup of artists. Music lovers can join in at the jamming tent (just bring your own instrument), take part in hands-on workshops, or step up to the mic during open sessions.

Festival-goers can enjoy licensed bars, delicious food, and browse unique market stalls. With street entertainment woven throughout the grounds, the festival buzzes with creativity, connection, and community spirit.

Families are warmly welcomed, with kids under 12 enjoying free entry, and teenagers attending at half price. The vibrant kids’ area, THE HUB, is packed with all-day performances, creative workshops, sporty fun, and hands-on activities, run by passionate educators and young performers. Parents can relax to live music while keeping an eye on the fun.

Ms Clarke said, “This relaxed, family-friendly festival is run entirely by volunteers, celebrating music, art, and togetherness. Whether you join in for yoga and bush poetry at sunrise, or dance into the evening under the stars — Maleny Music Festival is made for those who appreciate quality music and authentic experience.”

The Maleny Music Festival is sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council, Woodford Folk Festival, The Gambling Community Benefit Fund and Working Planet.
