Shorts On Stage returns

Red Carpet Theatre Company’s Alison Lambole.

Shorts On Stage is returning to the Noosa Arts Theatre, after receiving overwhelming success last year, as a fast moving selection of 10-minute, highly entertaining plays from stellar casts.

Shorts On Stage will be performed on 25 and 26 May at 2pm and 25 May at 7:30pm, with tickets being sold for adults at $25 and concession for $20. The audience has the voting power to choose the winning play and the winner takes home the $500 prize money. The 10 plays come from a cross section of groups and actors, including regulars Miranda’s Dressing Room and Little Seed Theatre Company, and a great selection of newcomers; Strike Theatre, Beenleigh Theatre Group Inside outside Theatre Company, SAD Theatre Group and more.

Noosa Arts Theatre is excited to host Red Carpet Theatre Company’s Alison Lambole as her experience is vast. She is a much loved local and international professional performer, and is a Clown Doctor at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. She also plays the voice over for Trunk, in the well acclaimed South African animation, Jungle Beat and will be seen very soon on the new Australian TV series, Time and Place.

Red Carpet’s entry ‘Sitting on the Spectrum’ is a satirical comedy about society’s need to fit everyone into a box, and label it. Written, directed and starring the exceptionally talented Alison Lambole and local favourites Susan Brown and Jolie Sainsbury.

Local Theatre Company Miranda’s Dressing Room enters with an Alex Broun comedy, titled, The Actress Dilemma, it stars award winning actress’ Jenni McCaul and Sue Clapham and is directed by Jane Rivers and Sue Sewell.

The theatre’s empty, the actress is late and the director is well, barmy. Just another audition really – but how far is too far?

Don’t miss your chance to see 10 stellar shows in the one event. After the Sunday performance is a pizza party followed by the presentation.
